Digitalization of Technological Processes for Irrigation Water Accounting and Distribution

The main objective of the scientific research: to determine the technical condition of water regulation and distribution processes in irrigation systems, as well as to assess the possibilities for their digitalization and automation.
During the business trip from July 16 to July 24, 2026, within the framework of the 7th activity of Budget Program 254 “Digitalization of Technological Processes for Irrigation Water Accounting and Distribution”, scientific research works were carried out at water management infrastructure facilities in the Almaty Region.
The research sites included the Big Almaty Canal, the right-bank and left-bank canals of the Shelek and Kurty rivers, as well as the Malybai-1 main canal.
During the research activities, the technical condition of hydraulic gates was assessed and their operational status was studied. Initial data were collected at the facilities on water use regimes, water discharge volumes, hydrological indicators, and technical operation documentation.
