Verification of Satellite and Ground-Based Land Monitoring Data Conducted in Pavlodar Region

A field mission was carried out in Pavlodar Region from July 14 to 25 within the framework of Activity 4 “Information Support for the Expansion of Prospective Irrigated Lands of the Republic of Kazakhstan Based on Satellite and Ground-Based Monitoring” under Budget Program 254.
As part of Activity 4, specialists from the “Irrigation Technologies and Equipment” Department of LLP “Kazakh Water Management Research Institute” conducted ground-based monitoring activities in Pavlodar Region. Together with the co-executor, JSC “National Center for Space Research and Technology” (NCSRT), the selection of sites for ground surveys in Pavlodar Region was carried out.
During the field mission, research activities were conducted at the selected sites located in Aktogay and Maisky districts, as well as in the administrative areas of the cities of Aksu and Ekibastuz, Pavlodar Region.
The results obtained from the ground-based surveys will be verified against the satellite monitoring data of the studied sites. Based on the obtained data, a preliminary assessment of the suitability of the surveyed areas for regular irrigation in Pavlodar Region will be carried out.
