Comprehensive Field Studies on the Melioration of Irrigated Lands Conducted in the Balkhash District

From June 22 to June 30, 2026, employees of the  Department of Land Reclamation and Ecology of Irrigated Territories  undertook a research mission trip to the Balkhash District of the Almaty Region under Budget Program 254 Activity 6.

During the field trip, field research was conducted at stationary monitoring sites, and data was collected on the crop patterns of water consumers in the Balkhash District. Additionally, data on water supply to consumers and the volume of collector-drainage runoff was gathered for the Akdala irrigation massif at the Tasmuryn production site of the Municipal State Enterprise «Almaty Oblvodkhoz». A route survey of the collector-drainage and irrigation networks was carried out, and soil and water samples were collected for chemical analysis. Furthermore, samples of irrigation and collector-drainage water were taken to technological parameters for mixing and applying sorbents and land reclamation agents under laboratory conditions.
