Program Title: «Development of technology for intensive reclamation improvement of degraded irrigated lands using highly effective organomineral compost-meliorant» (Budget Program 254 «Efficient Water Resources Management»).

Objective: To ensure the water security of the Republic of Kazakhstan through the efficient distribution of annually renewable water resources across all water management basins.

Key Research Findings (2024-2025)

  • Water Resource Assessment: Developed recommendations for forecasting annually renewable surface and groundwater availability across Kazakhstan’s water management basins.
  • Efficiency & Regional Strategy: Established guidelines for efficient water use based on demand feasibility and regional specificities.
  • Monitoring & Land Growth: Created information support systems for expanding irrigated lands using combined space and ground-based monitoring data.
  • Digitalization & Technical Solutions: Developed methodological foundations for digitalizing water distribution and accounting, as well as the rational mixing of surface and collector-drainage waters.
  • Reclamation Quality: Formulated a methodology to assess how used water quality impacts the reclamation status of irrigated territories.

Intellectual Property & Patents

According to the R&D calendar, four patent applications for utility models were submitted in 2025:

  • System for uninterrupted recharging of irrigation canal flow sensors (No. 10761).
  • Method and device for the reuse of drainage and return waters (No. 11082).
  • Secondary method for the reuse of drainage and return water (No. 11165).
  • Digital module for water level measurement (Application No. 2025/1275.2).

Scientific Publications

Research results were extensively published in 2025 across specialized journals including Science and Education, Geography and Water Resources, and Hydrometeorology and Ecology. Topics ranged from stabilizing reclamation conditions in the Aral-Syrdarya basin to drip irrigation technologies for onion cultivation in arid zones.
