Water Resources Management

The Department develops comprehensive scientific, methodological, and technological foundations aimed at ensuring the efficient, safe, and sustainable operation of water management systems. Its activities include forecasting hydrological and environmental processes with consideration of climatic and anthropogenic factors; developing strategic and operational water-use planning mechanisms; monitoring the technical condition and safety of hydraulic structures; providing scientific support for the design and operation of reservoirs; and developing and implementing automated digital systems for the monitoring, accounting, allocation, and calculation of water resources based on modern information and communication technologies.
Main Areas of Activity:
-development of scientific foundations for forecasting hydrological processes and environmental conditions in irrigated agriculture zones;
– development of national water resources management strategies;
– development of monitoring systems to ensure the safety of water management facilities and territories under various emergency situations;
– preparation of design and cost-estimate documentation for reservoir construction;
– development of recommendations for ensuring instrumental assessment of the technical condition of hydraulic structures;
– development and implementation of automated systems for monitoring, accounting, and management of water resources that comply with modern technologies for measuring hydrological and hydraulic parameters, featuring high accuracy and digital operation capabilities;
– development and implementation of software for the automatic recalculation and determination of water discharge based on water level measurement results.
