Kazakh Water Specialists Undergo Training in China on Integrated Water Resources Management

The first group of Kazakh specialists from the water sector has traveled to China this year to participate in a seminar aimed at ознакомление with China’s experience in planning and implementing water resources management systems, as well as technologies for comprehensive water environment rehabilitation.

The seminar is organized within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between Kazvodkhoz and PowerChina International Group Limited, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Water Resources of the People’s Republic of China.

The training is being held in the city of Changsha, with all expenses covered by the Chinese side. The first group includes 34 specialists. In total, around 200 people are expected to undergo training in China by the end of this year.

“The course topics cover issues related to water sector planning and implementation in China, administrative management of water resources, China’s state policy on combating water pollution, technologies for comprehensive water environment rehabilitation, and their development. The program also includes visits to the cities of Changsha, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou to study China’s experience in the field of water management and urban infrastructure,” said Nurzhan Nurzhigitov.

It should be noted that last year, 125 Kazakh water specialists completed advanced training courses organized by PowerChina. As a result, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of Kazakhstan and the Chinese side agreed to continue implementing the joint educational program this year as well.
